Dear Fans,

I made it to my dorm!! Yes it is a dorm. Well I guess there is a common living area so it's a residence hall...Who cares...It's Germany!!  I am living by myself.  The room is huge!! I have shelves everywhere as well plus a huge walk in closet.  It would be great except for the amount of things that I brought is grossly dwarfed by the amount of empty space in the room.  Oh well!

My stay in the hostel was quite adventurous.  My roommates were from all over the world: two from USA, one from Puerto Rico, one from Columbia, one from Egypt, and one from Chile.  They all spoke German and/or Spanish.  I was out languaged, but I threw what little bit of German (so about 5 words) and my 3 years of Spanish (so I can count to ten and ask how you are) at them and failed.  Thank God English is universal.  Which brings me to my next point: I need another language.

Anyway we made from the hostel to the Mensa (cafeteria) which was about a 1/2 mile walk with all of our bags. It was long.  We were divided into groups (Gruppe 7 was me!).  We then sat through 3 hours of orientation.  Probably about 90 percent was in German, so I know about 10 percent of what I need to know.  Luckily, one of my tutors is from Virginia, so he helped me out with translation.  After that, they shuttled us to our dorms.  My dorm is in Wehrda. It is a community in the town of Marburg.  I live about 20 minutes away from the center of the city.

My address for all of my fan mail is as follows:

Seth C. Livengood the first
Wehrda A
Ernst-Lemmer-Strasse 17
Zimmer 304
35041 Marburg
Germany

Well people, it is time for this kid to get officially moved it to his new residence.

Peace out Boy Scout,

Seth
